Welcome to Blue Sky Farm and Sanctuary!
Blue Sky Farm and Sanctuary is a non-profit organization located in Canterbury, Connecticut that provides hands-on recreational and therapeutic activities for children and youth whose lives have been impacted by foster care.
We offer an array of individually designed, equine-assisted programs, lessons, and volunteer activities designed to help restore the health and well-being of our students.

Blue Sky Farm and Sanctuary will be giving away either a free private 30 minute grooming session for one or $35 off one of our horsemanship classes.
5 lucky winners will get to choose between the two prizes.
The winners will be posted on our Facebook page April 8th.

At Blue Sky we focus on nurturing and promoting the health and well-being of our students. A positive relationship with just one caring adult can change a child’s life. The more healthy relationships children in foster care have, the more likely they will be to recover from trauma and thrive. Relationships are the agents of change. At Blue Sky we help our students build relationships.
Our wonderful Blue Sky team provides customized horse care and riding lessons, job and life skills programming, young parent and child classes, and homework help. Our herd of wonderful horses - mini to draft sized - act as valued friends, teachers, and guides to Blue Sky students who are developing confidence, new skills, and meaningful connections.
We partner with other visionary non-profits to create hands-on learning programs and provide an alternative meeting space for social workers and teachers to meet with our students and their families.

Message From Blue Sky’s Founder
My name is Brianna Pollock. I am the founder and head instructor at Blue Sky Farm and Sanctuary. My passion: sharing my knowledge of horses, barn management, and horseback riding with children and youth who are currently living in foster care. I am an experienced horse woman who spent the first six years of my life in the child welfare system.
Since 2010, when I began volunteering as a Counselor-In-Training at Birdsong Farm and Camp To Belong Massachusetts, I have been involved in teaching kids experiencing foster care how to ride and care for horses. I know from firsthand experience just how beneficial it is for young people placed in foster care to spend time in a barn surrounded by a caring community of humans and horses.
My vision: To use my knowledge, lived experience, and leadership skills to transform the lives of Blue Sky students as they discover new paths forward, learn important new skills, and soar to new heights.
