Voluntering
Come volunteer with us!
Blue Sky Farm and Sanctuary is always looking for volunteers to help around the farm! There are three ways volunteers can contribute to the farm and program. Prior horse experience is welcome but not required. Training will be provided. Blue Sky Farm volunteer opportunities are available year-round.
The first volunteer option is helping with the day-to-day farm chores, such as cleaning stalls and paddocks, providing horse care, helping with barn upkeep, and supporting property maintenance. Making sure the property and our Blue Sky Farm horses are well taken care of is extremely important to us. We want our horse team and anyone who visits the farm to spend time in a safe, clean, and beautiful environment.
Available year round.
The second option is helping with events both on and off the property. By showing up and engaging with the community events that support our program, you will help spread the word about Blue Sky Farm’s mission and introduce our animal assisted programs to the larger community. You might welcome people to an event, help with pony rides, hold horses, show visitors around the farm, engage with kids and families, collect payments, and offer support to Blue Sky Farm’s human-horse team.
Available year round.
The third option is helping with lessons. You may help prepare for lessons by grooming horses, tacking up, and untacking horses as well as assisting students in these tasks. In addition, you may also be a “horse handler”, leading horses during lessons or a “side walker”, walking alongside students and horses throughout lessons.
Available April 1st - November 15th.
