Our Programs

Riding Lessons

Blue Sky Farm riding lessons are customized to meet each student’s needs and skill level. We offer programming for young people who are interested in learning the basics of riding. Giving students a solid foundation to continue to grow as equestrians is what we do best.

Each Blue Sky Farm student will learn how to care for and communicate with a horse, build self confidence and develop self awareness. Our riding lessons focus on the foundation of riding by building arm, core, and leg strength, working on balance, and learning how to relax their hips.

Our students ride over ground poles, ride through obstacle courses, post to the walk, learn how to steer, and more.

Ground Lessons

Our ground lessons are perfect for new students who may have little or no experience with horses. This is a great opportunity to spend time with our human and equine team engaging in activities such as grooming, bathing, hand walking, learning basic horse care, and spending time around horses with a seasoned instructor.

  • 60 minute sessions

Job and Life Skills

Our Job and Life Skills Program is a good fit for students who would like to learn more about horse care and barn management. Young people will gain knowledge about the daily care of horses and build important skills that are essential for everyday life in a barn setting.

As they gain knowledge, each student will also learn how to be part of a team: communicating with each other, taking responsibility for barn related tasks, managing their time effectively, using their decision making skills, and developing leadership competencies.

This is done by engaging in activities that occur day-to-day on the farm such as taking care of our Blue Sky Farm horses, cleaning stalls and paddocks, feeding the herd, learning about horse health, helping with hay and grain deliveries, and keeping the barn and property organized.

  • Available April 1st - November 15th
