Horsemanship Class 1 For Teens
Today was a wonderful day for our first teen horsemanship class!
We started by learning how to properly brush a horse - a technique that not only helps keep the horses clean but also plays a vital role in creating a strong bond between Blue Sky Farm students and horses.
Our knowledgeable instructor, Brianna, guided us through the process of carefully wrapping a hoof and identifying the essential parts of the horse, which is fundamental for effective care. We had the opportunity to explore two different styles of wrapping legs, ensuring both the safety and comfort of the horses.
Additionally, we practiced taking vitals, an important skill for monitoring their overall health, and learned the proper way to set grain, ensuring that the horses receive the nutrition they truly need.
Each step of our class brought us closer to becoming capable and knowledgeable caregivers for the Blue Sky Farm horse team!
